Meghalaya
Meghalaya is situated in India’s northeastern region. It is the twenty-two largest State by land and the twenty-two most populous state in India. It shares borders with Assam to the north and east. It also shares an international border with Bangladesh to the south. It is one of the Seven Sister States of the northeast. Shilling, the capital of the state, has been called ‘Scotland of the East’ because of its elevation. Meghalaya has three wildlife Sanctuaries and two National Parks. Cherrapunji is a famous tourist destination of the state.
